COVID-19 Information

Dear MS1 students,
I know you have been receiving emails regarding COVID-19 that have been sent out from the University of Washington. For up to date information, please visit The Huddle (https://huddle.uwmedicine.org/news/covid-19-update) for the most recent UW Medicine updates as well as the UW’s coronavirus FAQ page<http://we.discover.uw.edu/wHoRa0dAh0000ch200p2V03>. Each of your campuses is likely sharing information about the corona virus too.

As I’m sure you have heard, there has been one death of a patient who was hospitalized at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington. There have also been patient’s with COVID-19 who have been hospitalized at Providence Sacred Heart in Spokane, Providence Everett in Everett, and Valley Medical Center in Renton. To date, there are no confirmed cases in Alaska, Idaho, Montana or Wyoming.

Each clinic and hospital where you are doing your PCP or your College morning will have specific procedures in place for when and how they will respond to COVID-19. Most hospitals are limiting the number of individuals who will care for patients infected with the corona virus. Please check with your Foundations dean, College mentor and/or FCM director for more information.

If you are ill, please stay home and let your Foundations dean know.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me – suzaalle at uw.edu<mailto:suzaalle at uw.edu> – or your Foundations dean.
